Kate Klein, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and sex therapist who provides psychotherapy and sex therapy to adult individuals, couples and groups/multi-partnered relationships. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Plattsburgh State University of New York as well as an internship at Planned Parenthood, where I became a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor, I enrolled in graduate school and earned a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Following acquirement of my clinical license in mental health counseling, I pursued specialization in sex therapy and was trained as a sex therapist via the Modern Sex Therapy Institute.

Prior to my time in private practice, I worked at a Tier I emergency domestic violence shelter based in Manhattan for 7 years and held positions as trauma specialist, clinical supervisor and director. Through my various roles and positions, I have gained experience delivering sex positive, evidence based and culturally sensitive psychotherapy, sex therapy and group therapy to a diverse population of people. In my current work, I draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques, such as cognitive behavior therapy, narrative therapy, feminist theory and mindfulness to incorporate what is most helpful for each unique individual, couple or group.
