Kate Klein, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who provides psychotherapy to adult individuals, couples and groups. I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Plattsburgh State University of New York.

In addition to my work at Chamin Ajjan Psychotherapy, I am currently the clinical supervisor at Aegis Domestic Violence Program, a Tier I emergency shelter for women and children who have recently experienced a traumatic event. During my five years at Aegis, I have also held the role of trauma specialist and have collaborated with individuals and families coping with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma related to abuse experienced in childhood as well as adulthood.

I tailor the therapeutic modality I utilize to best meet my client’s needs, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Person-centered therapy, Narrative therapy, Psychodynamic theory and Motivational interviewing. I am passionate about my work holistically assisting others in becoming self-actualized and empowered, comprehensively addressing their needs and gaining the support and skill building techniques needed to enact change and move forward.

I am currently working towards certification as a sex therapist via the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes and have been volunteering as a Certified Rape Crisis Counselor for Planned Parenthood since 2009.
